Moderator's Note: When you post an eBay item, please include a description of the item here as well. Thanks. This is a wooden Boehm system flute, marked "Christensen Boston, Mass 1246" on the middle section. The foot and head joints are also marked, but without the serial number. This flute is probably from around the 1920s. Information online says that Nils Christensen was a flute maker who worked for Harry Bettoney and and for Haynes for many years. Later he started his own firm. There are Christensen flutes in the Dayton C. Miller Flute Collection of the Music Division, Library of Congress, http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/dcmhtml/dmhome.html
When I had this flute worked on the cork was replaced and a replacement end cap was used. As you can see in the pictures I will include the original. It could be reused if the cork attached was repaired.
The case appears to be original and it works well, but one of the wood buttons to open it is falling out, since the leather covering is worn away.
