would you share them with your siblings?

This question crossed my mind the other day and I've got to ask some kids this question. The kids were clever, I got some clever replies. Then I told their siblings (in front of them) what they said. That was the funner part.

Tell us something.: I like whistles, flutes, lyres, cittern/mandolin/bouzouki family instruments, as well as heavy and nasty slap bass. Languages, linguistics, history (especially Migration Period and Bronze Age Europe), cuisine from various parts of Latin America, chili growing, bushcraft, and the works of JRR Tolkien also tickle my fancy.

The kids' answers were a surprise to me. Our Goddaughter would keep the magical powers to herself but give her brothers something magical. Her brother would have shared with her but not their older brother. Most of the siblings didn't trust their siblings enough to share and/or they wanted to be more special than their siblings.

My family shared everything. What if you're attacked by evil forces, wouldn't you want your siblings to be able to help you?

Are the powers finite and/or seperable?
If I give to one brother the power of Invisibility, can I give it to another as well? Do I then lose it myself?

I don't know if I'd share magical powers. I'd gladly help my siblings with my awesomeness, but the leverage of having them in my debt that way is an opportunity too good to pass up. :twisted:

In all honesty I would probably end up being the one that turns to evil while my sibling would be the one that holds to goodness. Knowing that, it would be a bad idea to share my powers because then there would be someone to stop me in all my dastardly exploits. Someone who knows me very well. No, I would certainly not share my powers.
