Site keeps randomly logging me out
Sometimes it will keep me logged in for 2 days and some days 1 day or less. I can't seem to figure out why either. Even after I have deleted all C&F cookies, it will still randomly log me out.

Re: Site keeps randomly logging me out
We have the server configured to preserve login sessions for 1 hour. The exact time seems to vary according to phase of the moon or something. But you shouldn't count on more than 1 hour. If you have "Keep me logged in" checked, then just revisiting or refreshing a board page should reactivate your session.

I forgot to mention that I always do have "Keep me logged in" checked. Yet it doesn't seem to be doing that though.

Re: Site keeps randomly logging me out
I don't know then, Skyclad. It's working OK for me with the Chrome browser.
Try logging out manually, then clear both the C&F cookies and any cached C&F pages. Log back in and check the box again.
I should mention that over the past couple of days we've had a few random server crashes lasting more than 1 hour, which bumped all logins off the board. Maybe you got caught in one of those.

I've done that, and that hasn't changed anything unfortunately.MTGuru wrote:I don't know then, Skyclad. It's working OK for me with the Chrome browser.

That's a good possibility.MTGuru wrote:I should mention that over the past couple of days we've had a few random server crashes lasting more than 1 hour, which bumped all logins off the board. Maybe you got caught in one of those.

Re: Site keeps randomly logging me out
I have found myself also getting logged out, under 2 circumstances:
1) Problems accessing Chiff and Fipple. Site has been down many times and unable to access, up to about an hour. Often when finally accessing, I will need to login again.
2) After accessing C&F from another device, such as a smartphone, I may need to login again when accessing from a different machine.
I can deal with it.

Re: Site keeps randomly logging me out
I've been getting this problem for at least 3 months now, but it only happens on my mobile Chrome browser (iphone). When it happens, I always get a warning message that I'm trying to go to a "bad" site. Then when it lets me in on the 2nd attempt, I have to log back in. It doesn't happen on my laptop browser, though. I think I actually made a thread about it a while back.
EDIT to say: Yep. I did make a thread about it.

It's not as frequent as it was back then, but still happens occasionally.

I get this issue several times as well lately. About once a week this will happenkkrell wrote:......

A quote from that thread;
Could this be a possibility?kkrell wrote:Possibly a security/certificate issue. Many sites do not properly identify themselves as the site you're seeking, or are using an invalid or expired certificate. Can even be the difference between whether the URL uses www. in front of it or not.
