Anna Martinez is my name, but I used to be Isadora Dumpling. Does that count?

OK, Carol, that was just too funny! I would try to come up with some equally creative explanation for my screen name, but, well, I'm feeling about as creative now as I was when I came up with the screen name. Sigh!

Why, thanks, LimuHead. :)

Here is an admission: I wanted to say that the story isn't quite completely true. I made up the part about the Klezmer musician. Abrahamson was actually an accountant, but that sounded too dull.

I must admit that "gonzo" isn't really my first name, which is simply too pedestrian to mention.

However, my last name really is "914," although it's pronounced "CMXIV."

Anyone even remotely familiar with the gentleman pictured in my avatar will understand the 'raindog' reference, and 1970 was the year I was born.
I go by 'raindog1970' in places other than this forum, and there are so many other people using the name 'raindog' that I had to add the '1970' just to be different.

Gary Humphrey

I read a T.S. Eliot epic poem in High School called "The Wasteland" and I loved it. Not sure why the name stuck with me over the years! Nearly all my "computer aliases" are "Phlebas"... email, other forums, etc. Funny how we adopt these pseudonyms...
