Pat D'Arcy's CD

Post by PJ »

I'm surprised I'm the first to raise this:

Well done Pat.

Has anyone listened to it yet?

Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

Many of us have been tracking this situation very closely. Can't wait to hear it! In fact, I will probably download it (because i can't wait) AND buy a cd (hopefully to have signed in person at the SoCal tionol).

Played a couple of tunes with Mr. D'Arcy at a party Sunday evening. Not only can he really blow great tone, he breathes life into every tune and makes it fun.

Hi Folks,

Yes, it is here! It arrived from the printers on Monday afternoon. I'm very happy with how it's turned out. If you would like to order one you can do so on my website: http://patrickdarcymusic.com/cd_pdm0001_order.html

It will also be available to download from http://www.cdbaby.com at some point over the next couple of weeks and from iTunes and various other places after that at some point also. I'll be announcing each as they happen.

Thanks everyone for the support!

Congratulations on that! I ordered mine this morning. What's the track listing on this (I didn't see it on the Uilleann Obsession website). Thanks!

Thanks for suggesting that. There's a lot to think about when releasing a CD :)

I've added a track listing to the website now: http://www.patrickdarcymusic.com/cd_pdm0001_order.html

Cheers!

Tell us something.: Not a new musician, but fairly new to the Uilleann Pipes. I am primarily a bass player, studied jazz bass in university, but also play, piano, saxophone, clarinet and drums. Looking forward to a long and happy experience with the pipes!

Just ordered mine.

Mr. D'Arcy played for my wedding years ago. The ex kept the DVD of the weeding, so I lost the only recordings of Mr. D'Arcy I had.

Awkward.......

Excited to get the CD!!! Congrats, Pat!

Every time I've parted ways in a relationship, my ex-love of my life wound up with the sofa... in the past 5 years I've purchased 4 sofas... and lost them all. Even the throw cushions... Yes folks, Love sucks.

So now I figure my wife sticks around because I haven't bought a sofa. I'LL NEVER BUY ANOTHER SOFA AGAIN!

But, I did purchase two copies of Patrick's spiffy new cd, so I'll letcha know if she runs off with one of them once she knows she ain't getting a sofa.... :)

Anyways, enough joking around, I'm looking forward to the album as well. Congrats Pat!!

Best, Jay

P.s' Of course... I won't be surprised if my wife does run off - you see, Patrick put a picture of himself on the cover. Damn your Greek God physique Pat! :swear:

I'm going to buy two CD's ,and heres a tip for all you gardening pipers out there, if you hang the CD'd on a piece for reed tying thread over newly sown seed beds, it helps to keep birds away .

That doesn't work in LA.
The birds are media savy.

 I'm wearing a groove in that track!
Pat played the tune for me at my lesson and it was a real treat.
