Tell us something.: I'm a traveling man, made a lot of stops. All over this world. And in every port, I own the heart of a cute little girl. Woah, I'm a travel'n man. Yes, I'm a travel'n maa-an. Woah, I'm a travel'n man.

The teaser is wonderful, and I am looking forward to the completed documentary. I especially like anything about craftsmanship and would love to hear the soundbite about why they do it? Instrument making, flutes or whistles, working with the variety of materials by hand and passing that tradition on when everything today is so commercialized and mass produced. Very nice tease...

That is awesome! Now I know why my flute is so amazing -- it came from a wonderful home. :) Nice shooting and style. Keep up the good work, and the baguette on the bandsaw = I love those guys.

Um, am I missing something here? When I click the OP link it takes me to a Vimeo page for the clip, but there's no active/viewable clip displayed, nor any obvious way to view it. Does one have to join Vimeo to view it? (The page doesn't clearly say so...... - rather duff web-design IMO at a cursory exploration!) Or is it my antiquated computer just not loading it at any sensible speed?

Update - OK, found it on Jem's (hey, there's two of us!) FB page and watched it OK through that. "Teaser" is right!

Great teaser.
Forgive my ignorance but did Ian Anderson always play simple system flutes?
When I was a kid I thought I he had a Boehm type.

Actually, there's much more to that interview clip, where Patrick explains how he ended up making several bamboo flutes in different keys for Ian to play with an orchestra. There's a brief shot of the poster with Ian holding an Olwell bamboo flute just after the interview clip. All sorts of good stories that will be in the finished movie :)

I hope you got the story of how Mike Rafferty got his flute. Also, I hope you got mucho footage of Patrick and Aaron playing tunes. Those guys need to do a recording!

And everyone on Patrick's waiting list can rest easy knowing that he didn't take valuable time away from flute-making to spruce up the place for Jem's visit. It's every bit as disheveled as it was the last time I was there.

Can't wait to see the completed film, great stuff.

I'm sure this video must have been posted before, but I've been away a long while and it seems appropriate here: http://mattolwell.wordpress.com/2010/11 ... lute-fans/
