Well, the file title does state "teaspoon", FWTW, and although these things are a) visually subjective and b) design variable, the proportions of that spoon (bowl to handle etc) look more teaspoon than dessert or table to me.

I found it by looking through loads of old piccolo threads and remembering that it belonged to Andrew. I remember thinking I'd never seen aything that small and that complex before at the time. Why it stuck I'd guess. Maybe Jon C would remember more as he would have been in contact with Andrew or at least got the pic from him?

Anyway Sorry its not what we're on about really but still very cool.

I have a feeling that it would be impossible for me to play that cute little F piccolo. I wonder what the glove size of the player was.

Know just what you mean. I've got rather large hands (XL gloves and all that) and find it somewhat painful to maintain a secure enough grip to play one of Jon's piccolos much less that toy.

I have a block mounted E piccolo ID and have small but very fat fingers. Only the g sharp block {d terms} gets in my way for proper A rolls. Playing without rolls or simply is no problem. It is only a problem if one wants to play tunes with proper ornamentation that it becomes any type of problem. Anyway we should be in the piccolo thread anyway but shouldn't be too much of a problem.

But then again if there were more interesting flutes in the style requested here we'd have found them. I'm sure.
Here is an F thats Carl Fischer {German} at least its eight key rather than the usual german flute in F six key no name

I think long meandering threads are a more interesting read than narrow focus threads that soon get lost due to the rarity of the subject

Where are the rest and what was played on them? Were they just elaborate band flutes for the eccentric or was there music written that asked for this type of instrument or was it like today the request of someone wanting a flute 'capo'?

The F flutes do seem a bit less common in general. I checked the Dayton C miller collection and found that there were Bb (Ab concert?) F seemed to be lacking. I was expecting to find at least a Hawkes and Son Crown AZ in F but no such luck. Even the makers of modern keyed F flutes don't have it as an option from what I can see, but I haven't been looking too hard.

I have no F flute, so I am ineffable.
