For the past few years I've been organizing the US Ocarina Festival. We hold it in October in a suburb in North Dallas. The first year we hosted a small gathering of enthusiasts and held our concert in the foyer of an Asian Grocery Store (don't judge, it was awesome!). Since then it has grown each year with year 2 having 3 professional performers and a showcase of 5 enthusiasts. Year 3 we had a US performers as well as ocarinists from Japan, China, and Norway. This year we've already confirmed a large Japanese ensemble as well as Kazumi Sato. Don't worry, since our second year we've used a nice 300 seat auditorium and even had local television coverage/support.
Here are the details for the main concert:
Saturday, October 8 at 7 PM
Allen Public Library
300 N Allen Dr, Allen, Texas 75013
There will be other activities as well, so if you're coming, be sure to confirm for the Facebook event and as the day approaches you'll get notifications.
Chiff and Fipple in your hometown.
