Johnny Henry recording

Post by Steve Bliven »

The Pipers Gathering was held via Zoom this past weekend. During one of the workshops Jerry O'Sullivan was talking about a recording by Johnny Henry (brother of the late Kevin) entitled, "One From the Fort". It appears to be out of print at present. Anyone know of a possible source?

Thanks and best wishes.

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

One Out of the Fort, actually; a fine point, but bigger perhaps on websearches. Found it on Spotify, and a CD is available at CD Universe. So that's a start for you. :)

Thanks all. I lucked onto a contact with Kevin Henry, Jr., nephew of Johnny and son of the late Kevin Sr. He had a copy he's sending me. It's a fascinating network we have here—and one most appreciated by someone well removed from the sources of the music.

Best wishes, stay safe and wear your mask.
