Here are 4 tunes that I wrote this year.

The first is Drowsey Maggie upside down which is where the name comes from.

This one is named for the fact that our session is the second sunday of each month. I am not sure what type of tune it is besides NOT being a jig

So,

These are the first tunes that I have put together. I started playing whistle in earnest about 16 months ago. Still getting up to speed and learning to remember things without using the dots as a crutch

Any comments will be much appreciated. Which version of Blue Jigg do you like better?

Re-inventing the wheel. A strange turn of phrase in a traditional music forum. Over the past week I've been sifting through thousands of trad Irish and UK tunes and songs on the web. What still never ceases to amaze after 30 odd years is the abundance and quality of anon music. If you're the kind of guy who needs to make a bug-eyed goldfish out of a perfectly good carp no one is going to stop you. But in your rush to create you really should pause to learn from the anon masters. Check out 'King of the pipers' (irbulk.abc, Henrik Norbeck ABC tunes) for example before writing a jig. If you're not gob smacked (taken aback) you're not of this planet.
