we play it with C#. never heard it with Cnat.
I first heard The Humors of Trim played using C#, so that's how I'm imprinted for it. It was from The Chieftains, as I recall. Their liner notes called it The Rolling Wave, and I believe they did a slip jig variation on it on the track, too (which is sort of brilliant as it makes a nod to the fact that its unusual phrasing makes The Humors of Trim *seem* like a slip jig). Never heard the Cnat version until a couple of years ago. I was like, "What's up with
that???" And they were like, "Tommy Peoples plays it that way. So there."
P.S. Everyone around here calls it The Rolling Wave, too. I refuse to succumb.
