Martin Hayes : Shared Notes (book)

Post by Mr.Gumby »

Buried in an Irish Times 'Time to replenish the pile' list of books to read in the next few months I came across the following:
Shared Notes
Martin Hayes
Sandycove, October 14th
This memoir from the leading contemporary Irish traditional musician charts the traditional music scene from the 1960s to the present as well as capturing Hayes’s professional and sometimes turbulent personal life.

I can't find anything about it anywhere (including the publisher's website, Sandycove is an imprint of Penguin in Ireland) but it's possibly one to keep an eye out for. If you're into that sort of thing, ofcourse.

For anyone interested, the book is out (got a copy earlier), the full media offensive is on (see the Irish Times, Miriam O Callahan on rte : here. ) and himself is on book tour. I spoke to someone who had been to the launch event at the National Concert Hall and she said it was a lovely night. Tonight Hayes will be talking and playing in Ennis.

And I just saw shops full of Xmas gear. But that's a whole other story. :boggle:
