New album out with Carolan tunes.

Post by Ketil »

Hi
I just want to let you know that my trio Fir Arda just released a album of Carolan tunes. It is available on all digital services and we hope you'll have a listen.
"Carolan's Receipt for Drinking" by Fir Arda.

I hope it is ok with this this self-promoting post as we are just hobby-musicians trying to get our music out there.

Tell us something.: I have an interest in penny whistle traditional folk music from a variety of world cultures. In addition to penny whistle, I play the mandolin, guitar and 5-string banjo.

Fantastic recording.

Any recommend Carolan resources for a novice whistle and flute player?

Tell us something.: I'm a late starter in music. Other then a year of clarinet age 10. Started sax age 55 and added a little piano but Nay is my proper second installment. Now I'm exploring the whistle. I like fora because it's like chatting in a pub and you learn stuff socially.

Hi. Great music.

I'm an (very) amateur player, British but living in Trondheim. I was wondering if you could recommend some Nordic folksy music that migh be on or fit the whistle? Just for fun and to - finally - impress the neighbors.

I appreciate this is off topic; if you had some ideas, maybe another thread?

Cheers og tusen takk

Tell us something.: Hello, I have been playing the whistle for several years and play in a ceilidh band which is why I am interested in this forum. Irish Music is of great interest to me especially as I have Irish relatives.
