Kirk Lynch Concert D Half-Set (SOLD)

Post by Kevin f. Gilstrap »

Just in time for Christmas!
Kirk Lynch Concert D Half-Set - NEW CONDITION!
Chanter: Mopane, with Boxwood and Brass fittings, C key, F nat key and G sharp key. Good reed, in tune with a good soft and hard bottom D.
Drones - Mopane
Mainstock - Cherry. Bored for tenor and baritone regulators.
Bag - Very good condition.
Bellows - Very Good condition.

New, this set would cost you US$3725 and a long wait. This set has been well cared for and is in new condition. I am asking US$3100.00 [Now $2800.00 - Mod] or best offer. Would consider a trade for a Martin HD-28 accoustic guitar in mint condition. This does not include shipping or insurance. Selling because I simply do not have time to dedicate to this awesome instrument and it needs to have a good home.

Comes with Case.
Contact me at: kgilstrap1@kc.rr.com

Cheers!

Hey Kevin, why are you selling? going back to the big pipes? It would be good to continue to have a playing group here in KC - even though I think the last time we met up was 2 years ago at Marc's.

Hey Jeff, yes it has been a couple years. I'm still running the KC Celtic pipe band and playing my guitar a lot. I just don't seem to have the time to be where I want to be with the Uilleann pipes. So I figured I'd better get them in the hands of someone who really can use them. It was a hard decision for me because they're really such a pretty set and fun to play.

Ok, but if you change your mind let me know know. I don't think we are too far from each other and I have been playing a lot lately - travel has lightened up some.

My original post said Martin HD-28 and I accidentally left off the V. Should be Martin HD-28V. Thanks!

I've been getting requests for sound files. If I were to play, it would send everyone running for the hills. So I'm going to take the pipes up to Kirk Lynch's shop and have him play a tune, and will post the sound file out here. Thanks for all the interest.
