I wonder if he/she might not have more luck listing it lower with a $950 reserve price.

It's a reasonable price for such a chanter (three keys and chanter stop key). BC has a very solid reputation.

http://www.bcpipes.com/ would price out new at $1175 and he has lead times of more than a year. Winning bidder will pay $28 in addition to bid for USPS shipping and insurance. Payment in cashier's check or money order only.

I should have phrased that differently. I have no doubts about BC's craftmanship. I meant that that's a very high starting place for the bidding on the item. So, I meant: "No one is going to start bidding on it for $950."

Hey there, I think Childress sets are very nice. However I have never heard or seen one in real life. How does Childress' quality compare to Gallagher's quality???
