Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

For your horrorsment (horror/amusement), here’s an homage to The Foxchase, featuring a more rustic, proletariat view of animal pursuit.

I think Mr Redmond is one of the most musical pipers around all the moment, its no wonder he's in demand by other musicians.

Nice, these two play such tasteful arrangements, and were a big inspiration to me when I first started breaking into trad. Deadly Buzz is definitely on my top ten list of trad albums. Good find, thank you for Posting!

I sometimes feel that certain pipers playing only appeals to other pipers, but then other piper's can stand alone as purely musicians. I would consider this as a fine example of the later.

Ps a great example of a perfectly in tune set of pipes

Geoff Wooff and Brian McNamara

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSD3i5epS4I

Somehow missed out on McNamara until now. He's doing some tricksy stuff with the pipes here. He gets this real slippery sound while at the same time playing in the most closed style I've ever heard. The playing is just saturated with subtle off the knee coloration and spooky grace notes. It's like he's tickling the dang chanter. Listening to the version of Pol Ha'penny at 11:30 was like hearing pipes for the first time again. I don't know if this style was particularly prominent at some point in history (maybe it is kind of Ennis-like) but to me it sounds old-school. Perfect for showing off the tonal complexity of the Wooff set. It's kind of amazing, when they play together it sounds like there's a fiddle in there.
