Hi all,

It’s been a while since I posted anything here. I’ve turned 40 this year and in the absence of ever making a CD or something, I have gathered together some bits and pieces I’ve recorded over the years and put them on YouTube. I hope to add to it in the future. Hope you enjoy these tunes, thanks.

Joey Abarta & Nathan Gourley - full concert. Joey's got a set in C here that I haven't seen before. Anyone know the maker?

Tell us something.: I'm back in the uilleann piping world after a ten year hiatus. Uilleann piping chops, here I come!

I'm a smallpipe and Border pipe maker and we'll just see where that leads to.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Nathan and I used to play together a fair amount when he lived in the Twin Cities. Our loss when he moved away!

Curious if anyone knows who the maker of this flat set is. I can appreciate some raspy might from a chanter, but really love the melodious tone of this one. Not sure to what degree the sound engineering is playing a part here.

Great playing, and it looks to me also to be a Froment set.
You can hear a touch of reverb during the track. Some of it may be the room, but it does sound like some of it originates at the mixing board.
There's a Froment B set up for sale on Pat D'Arcy's (www.uilleannobsession.com) site. I'd love to have a go at The Morning Thrush on that set (the wife says no cashing in the retirement savings though).

Thanks for the weighing in, everyone. I could swear I had seen it identified as a Froment set before, and in fact it had been on this very forum, but that was in the olden days of the internet before all http was converted to https, which is why my search for the YT url turned up blank. Lesson learned.

In the interest of keeping this thread on topic, here's a video featuring Jane Walls that may have slipped past your radars due to her name not being in the title. She's even younger in all the previous videos I'd seen, so I was glad to stumble across a more recent demonstration of her skill:
