Regulator woes

Post by WireHarp »

Hello peoples
I was playing my Rogge concert set at an outdoor event in high heat and humidity. Suddenly the baritone reg refused to make a sound. I tried moving the bridle up, down, all over and still nothing. The blades had not closed shut. I assume I will have to take the reed out and really examine it, but the regs have these Rogge tuning"slides". Does anyone have experience with these beasties? Is there a way to remove the reed without cutting the little zip tie, or unwinding the whole thing? Any help appreciated..got a gig this coming weekend.
Thanks
