2022 Pipers Gathering

Post by Steve Bliven »

Received the following message today from the Pipers Gathering (19–21 August in Litchfield, CT) regarding Uilleann pipers...

"The Pipers’ Gathering is excited to announce that Colm Broderick will be joining us this August as instructor and performer. Colm, 22, comes from Graiguecullen in Carlow. He is an All-Ireland winning uilleann piper, and an in-demand teacher as well. Colm is a loan recipient of the Na Píobairí Uilleann Liam O'Flynn Bequest. The pipes were made by Leo Rowsome in 1936. This set belonged to Seán Reid, and was previously loaned to piping legends including Willie Clancy, and Liam O’Flynn. Colm recently also won the Bonn Oir Seán O’Riada competition, playing the Rowsome set (pictured above). Colm will be bringing the Liam O'Flynn Bequest pipes to the Gathering.

"Tim Britton, Chris Gray, Michael Roddy and Colm Broderick will all be offering uilleann piping instruction at the 2022 Pipers' Gathering.
What a line-up! Come and take some classes and workshops! Make new friends! Ogle some lovely sets of pipes! Enjoy Irish sessions late into the evening! All instructors will offer a few personal lessons. Sign up now to reserve your spot!

Best wishes.
