Pat Sky.
Pat Sky has passed on to that great music session in the next life. He provided much useful information during the early stages of the current revival of the Uilleann Pipes. Recordings of Tommy reck and Seamus Ennis and a book he wrote are much remembered .
Rest in peace Mr. Sky.

That’s terrible news. I’m so glad that I got to meet the man and spend some time learning from him. RIP.

Very sad news, indeed.

Re: Pat Sky.
I didn't meet Pat until a tionol about fifteen years ago. I saw, and played tunes with him at several of the Fall gatherings which were held near his home in North Carolina. Cathy and he were a great pair, and a joy to have tunes with. At one of these, I had the opportunity to play the old B chanter he had (don't remember the maker, maybe Kenna), and that was the high point of my entire piping life. A generous man, who will be sorely missed.

RIP, to a very important figure in the piping world

Re: Pat Sky.
R.I.P. Pat Sky. I never met Pat Sky, but I bought his uilleann pipe tutor when I first became involved with the uilleann pipes. I also bought the Tommy Reck LP "The stone in the field" which came about, as I understand, mainly because of the help Tommy received from Pat who reeded Tommy's Kenna set and gave encouragement.

Re: Pat Sky.
I had the same experience. Yes, it was a Kenna chanter.
Another thing about him is that he was a great storyteller and lived with Seamus Ennis and Liam O’Flynn. He could tell great stories about Seamus Ennius, including imitating him talking.

Here's a nice clip of Pat with Pete Seeger from about 1965.
