Sterling silver and real friggin' ivory, handsome looking! The beadwork on all the silver bits and mainstock cup makes it stand out from all the rest. Those silver keys look pretty sturdy. Nice looking kit.

Thanks, Kevin! Mr. Quinn is a genius. He rescued the parts from the wastebin of my stalled project of 20 years, and turned it into a nice set of pipes. His Taylor-style regulator keywork is superb. Benedict did the voicing - it sounds like The Buffalo Bills. There are just a few minor pieces left to make, and then it will finally be finished.

Re: Pictures of Your Pipes
I never thought I'd go there but with a fair bit of reluctance I started thinking about it during a spell of regular playing out. There was an offer that eventually pulled me across the line and I went with the flow.
The brief was: a compact, sturdy yet elegant 3/4 set with a strong voice with the nuances of a flat set. They ran a bit over their deadline but they were ready just after Easter. Eventually I booked the trip to collect them and so on Friday, travelling light with my son, a clean pair of knickers and an empty case, we lifted off from Shannon to pick them up.
Brought them back last night.Time to play them in.

- Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

- Tell us something.: I like pipes and other things involving music, like music and pipes. Reeds are an enigma. Though I can make violins, I can not make a reed.

Mr.G----Them are nice looking pipes. May I ask who the maker is?
May I always be the person my dog thinks I am.

Chrome works fine. Chrome is the shiny, new, fancy pick of the browsers, now... one could say it's the chrome of browsers.
