Yes, am tuning my fiddle down very cautiously in preparation.

Tell us something.: I just wanted to update my location... 100 characters is a lot and I don't really want to type so much just to edit my profile...

I think you'll be sorely disappointed if you show up in Detroit on the 17th and 18th!

Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

It's not too late to get in your registration for early-spring saving$$! (registration received by May 15 saves you $5.00. That's enough to buy me a pint ).

It is going to be a great tionól...as you would expect from The Great Northern Irish Pipers' Club.

I'll get polishing tonight to make a good appearance :) That green stuff growing on the keys can be a right turn off

Looking forward to it!

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Excellent. Aside from being accessible and witty, both Moran and D'Arcy (as ever) are good teachers, and I came away with several gems to focus on. And tommykleen had a wonderful analogy this year for the "circle of death": a musical de-pantsing. Hey, it was a full moon. As it were.

It wasn't as well-attended as in the past, but we'll hit hard for a resurgence next year, and this will be aided by next year's rescheduling of the Scottish fair which up to now has coincided with our tionól, unfortunately.

Thanks and kudos to all who put their hands in to make it work.

It was a great time. I learned more than I can even get my head around and am anxious to get to my recordings from the weekend and practice practice practice. The concert videos should be online in a week or two.

A great thanks to both Jimmy and Pat as well as tommykleen and everyone who helped out to make this year a great year.

A great resource that more people should take advantage of. Everyone mark your calendars for next year.

A splendid weekend indeed. Big thanks to Tom and Adele in particular and the whole GNIPC crowd in general for the kind and generous hospitality. Tuition from JOBM and the D'Arcy was top notch, and kudos to Michael O'Donovan for manning the reed table.
