Having bought chanters from Mike Ginsberg before, there may be less issues with the chanter than you think.

My comment was only in context with the description that Mike provided: removal of a key and not the original chanter top. I am glad that he added those descriptions, as in the past that was not always the case.

eb - deliberately so or an older chanter when concert d was higher in pitch ?

As there ivory on them and would this cause issues ?

I was wondering that too. Would it (if you consider D as "concert pitch") be considered as a "sharp" chanter? I'm intrigued. Were there drones and regs made in Eb or other pitches higher than concert as well?
