First I started getting this about 1300:
General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
User cfforum already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections [1203]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
Then I started getting this:
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@forums.chiffandfipple.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
The boards are up again, but does that mean the problem has been identified and fixed, or is this still in "mystery" status?

Re: Rough Day for the Boards
I've been having the same problem all evening. I got home from work about six PM and connecting to the board has been very hard. I can access the main page via Google but hitting on the Forums Index I get that first message that DJ quoted...
I read up on Dennys links but don't see how that is affecting me as I get into all my other bookmarks straight away...
Frustrating..to say the least.
Slan,
D.

Re: Rough Day for the Boards
I'm wondering (just a guess) if being open to guests allows too many robots to scan the fora db, resulting in too high an active user base at any one time.

Re: Rough Day for the Boards
That crossed my mind as well but I don't know enough tech stuff to give the notion any regard.

I was wondering if the time out value should be shorter,
and if the timed out jobs were actually being killed.
'course A Plague of Bots has a nice ring to it.
ew! cross posting with Dubh!!!
