Vpipes - fault?

Hi
have had a set of Vpipes for a long time, which are handy for practising or learning tunes off recordings in different keys on the quiet. Mostly they've been fine over the years but recently I have a fault I can't diagnose. Battery seems OK, charging and holding. On switch and boot seems to work and display is working, goes as far set up menu screen as normal. After that no button presses seem to register at all, can't get into play mode or any settings menus.
Any ideas? Software, hardware?
