Right, that's just for configuration and basic function checks. If you want a breath controlled synth on the PC, you might consider Respiro: https://www.imoxplus.com/site/

But that's really only if you're going to use the expression aspect. It won't be a good "whistle replacement"

For whistle players, I suggest changing the vented tube threshold from their defaults to what I use:

Andrew is making these values the defaults for the vented tube whistle thresholds in the next version of the firmware and I believe now if you set defaults on the latest configuration page.

I was gonna ask if you had some config tips :) Your videos with the warbl are pretty good.

The threshholds you have are close to what I came up with on my own playing with the thing in Chrome, but I decided to quit fiddling with it and fine tune things after getting my ipad hardware.

Thanks, Michael, for posting your configuration values. Gives me a good starting point for experimenting.

Looks like we also owe another thank you for making the configuration tool available in the App Store.

Much appreciated!

Got my apple camera connection kit and Celtic Sounds App (kaching! $3.49 in yer pocket my man, Mr. Eskin)

I'm getting used to some of the idiosyncrasies of the device, but I'm liking it

Took mine to session last night. It was an interesting curiosity, and well received.

Unfortunately, my old ipad wasn't loud enough to actually lead tunes with it. With just one fiddle playing next to me, it couldn't be heard. I'll have to work out a solution ;)

Has anyone tried connecting their phone to a Bluetooth speaker and not experienced lag? I’m interested in getting one of these but only if I can find a set up that works in a session of 4 to 5 people.

I haven't tried it specifically with the WARBL, but Bluetooth generally has latency too high for musical purposes, other than playing back tracks of course

I got one of these for the Ipad:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EWB37S

Clip-on speaker. It plugs into the headphone jack, and you charge it via USB. Other than an on/off switch there are no other controls...it just amplifies the sound coming out of the jack and plays it through the speakers--thus, no lag.

It sufficiently amplifies the ipad so that the WARBL can be heard when I'm playing next to noisy people. :D

It should work with any phone with a headphone jack--but it probably wouldn't clip onto a phone very securely. If you don't mind having the speakers sit next to the phone instead, it should work fine.

Thanks! I do have an iPad, so that might be a good choice if I ever actually get a WARBL.

Point of note: Even though the product says "for ipad", since it connects via a headphone jack and not the lightning port, it should work in any phone, computer or tablet that has a headphone jack.

Agreed, no Bluetooth speaker solution is going to work because of the inherent lag. This isn't specific to WARBL or my apps.

I haven't purchased WARBL yet while waiting for all the experts to test drive and comment. Another commentary on YouTube that is informative and visual:

I would hope that CutiePie returns to posting on the Chiff forum. :)
