When using Unicode symbols for tablature, different browsers will render the symbols I'm using differently depending on the font selected in the %%annotationfont specified.

You can use this site to preview which fonts might work best on your system and browser:

I pasted in the following string to see what it looks like with many different fonts:

● ○ ◓

For example, I'm on Firefox on Mac and it looks like "Apple Symbols" might be the right one for me to use.
