F/S Several unplayed instruments!

Post by Tonehole »

Hope this is okay to post - I have a few instruments I haven't had time to play:

David Oddy Mandocello 25inch scale sitka spruce body - made by the late David Oddy. An Irishman bought it off me in January 2022 and then never showed up or paid for it. Excellent cosmetic and 100% working condition. Drop dead gorgeous resonance and sound. This is just incredible if you play CGDA or drop D tuning. Rarely played or touched since! Supplied in Hiscox travelcase.Specifications are here: http://www.oddyluthiers.co.uk/mandocello.htm £1250

10inch banjo 5 string (1x peg needs attention) with Remo head. Excellent warm sound. 1 peg sheared off - needs attention so reduced cost £100.00

Squire Electric guitar (not working) - needs attention for electrics £25
Tanglewood Acoustic folk guitar: some dents/repaired cracks. Playable and works with cable when battery inserted £50

Alto Boehm flute in orchestral G: Gebruder Monnig with B foot extension (this goes down to low F - one pitch below the standard orchestral G and is relatively rare!) - fully playing concert alto flute by German specialists Gebruder Monnig. This flute is a hard hard silver plated tank! It is incredibly robust and not light and fragile like Trevor James alto flutes (made in Taiwan). The Gebruder Monnig is a dark horse of an alto flute and has a long reach at 95cm. If your arm span is like a dove, don't bother trying. This one needs arms like an eagle to play. Of course, there is a curved head option (separate). £1500. Fully working - pads all work. No damage just cosmetic wear from use.

Spare alto flute body: fits Trevor James. Looks to be English made - not chinese made. Solid key and pin mechanism. Working but the pads of the footjoint could do with renewing shortly. No headjoint. £400

Pearl alto flute headjoint - fits standard alto Pearl flutes £250 excellent condition.

Alto flute curved headjoint - made by a famous English handmade specialist - I'll have to dig the details out. It fits the Gebruder Monnig system alto flute but costs a fortune and has an incredible intonation!

Unnamed 8 key simple system flutes in cocuswood/Metzler 10 key simple system cocuswood flute; fully keyed complex simple system Jerome Thibouville cocuswood; a few baroque traverso flutes, a F simple system flute; 1x 1 keyed stunning blackwood Phil Bleazey Pratten bore hybrid flute for small finger reach. All in playing condition.

1x bamboo xiao flute in G major/ Eminor - LEFT HANDED custom made flute). This is a vertical rim flute made by a boutique artisanal maker in China £65

Few pearwood recorders - bass flauto dolce baroque fingering. Stained red/brown. Excellent uncracked playing condition £150
I might have a few tenor and alto recorders too (pearwood - Moeck or Mollenhauer)

A few flute projects I dont have time for with sheared tenons which need repair inc. Boosey & Hawkes Siccama 10 key simple system Pratten's Perfected & ebonite Siccama flute.

2x fully keyed piano accordions - Hohner Carina IIIM & another (slight bellows leak; other has 1x key countersunk needs attention).

Some mandolas (CGDA x1 octave above mandocello or a perfect fifth below mandolin).

3/4 size excellent condition Suzuki 1978 violin with bow (£150)

Lapsteel - working condition - great sound and tuned open G (£125)

Based in London if you are close enough to have a look. I'm not on digital media much. Will try and get photos of anything anyone is interested in. Cheers.
