FS: David O'Brien keyless flute SOLD

Post by stiofan »

I'm selling a keyless blackwood flute by David O'Brien (Barefield, IE). I've had this flute since December 2020, bought it from the original owner who got it in 2016 from the O'Briens (father & son who made flutes from approx. 2005-2018? or so).

It's a fantastic flute, an especially easy player in the second octave, solid bell note, responsive, robust tone with a Pratten-style (one-piece) barrel and larger holes but plays more like a Rudall, or perhaps a hybrid Pratten/Rudall. I've really enjoyed this flute while I've had it, but I've got a new one on the way, so it's time to find a new home for this one. Minor overhaul done in March 2021 by Jon Cornia, so it's in great shape.

$650 firm + shipping only in CONUS.
