Bowed Dulcimer (aka Pocket Cello)

Post by stiofan »

For sale: Bowed dulcimer (aka 'Pocket Cello') made by Ken Bloom, 2021. This model is tuned just like a cello (C-G-d-a) with the same scale length (27") as a cello. It was made by request with a few different features than the standard bowed dulcimer:
1. C-holes
2. Wittner geared pegs (instead of mandolin tuners it's usually equipped with)
3. Decorative starburst soundhole below fingerboard
Currently set up with Helicore medium cello strings.

I've had this bowed dulcimer since September and it's in perfectly new condition, not played much and only at home. I've decided to resume playing the cello, so looking for a new home for this fine instrument.

For those unfamiliar with the bowed dulcimer, here's an introductory video by the inventor/luthier, Ken Bloom.
