FS: Casey Burns Low A flute

Post by Fliúiteadóir »

This flute is in perfect condition. I've only performed with it twice, which is why I'm selling it. It is a little too quiet for the big loud sessions I play in weekly, and I rarely perform these days, and don't record any more. But through a mike it's superb: big, deep sound which fills a room. Plays really well through both octaves.

I'm selling it because I feel it's being wasted, and also to fund improvements to another instrument ( clarinet ! shock horror !) which I play much more regularly.

I have smallish hands: I found a Patrick Olwell C bamboo flute was too much of a stretch for me, and swapped it with Patrick for a smaller one. Yet my fingers make the stretch on this A flute. It's the way Casey has designed it. As you can see by the pictures, it has a blackwood headjoint and mopane for the other 3 joints. Comes in a padded case.

Casey sells these for USD 900. I'll ask USD 700 ( or equivalent).

here is a link to a Soundcloud clip of me playing a slow jig and a reel, multi-tracked with guitar. It's a little rough ( I did it on an amateur recording software, and there's annoying incidental noise which I can assure you the flute does NOT make ), but you get the full rich sound of this flute. https://soundcloud.com/simon-wells-5/a-flute-brckt-mp3
