Chiffboard Status on Facebook
The Chiff & Fipple Group on Facebook is now the "official" status page for news and updates when the Chiffboard is down or experiencing problems.

Please bookmark the page for future reference. Or, it's easy enough to find and remember.
You don't need a Facebook account in order to view the page.

Re: Chiffboard Status on Facebook
Any chance you can register a custom URL?
Like http://www.facebook.com/chiffandfipple
for example. That would be WAY easier to
remember. I think they let you do that for
any page that has at least 25 members.

Re: Chiffboard Status on Facebook
Thanks fearfie, we'll look into that. As it is, if you Google "chiff fipple facebook", our group page is the first hit.

Re: Chiffboard Status on Facebook
Just a bump to remind everyone about the existence of the Chiff & Fipple group on Facebook as an alternate point of contact in the event of Chiffboard problems.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2229480589
or just Google "chiff fipple facebook" to find it.
Thanks!

Account/Account settings/usernameWhat is a Facebook username?
You can personalize your Facebook URL (web address) by selecting a unique username. It will appear in the location bar of your browser after "http://www.facebook.com/" when you view your profile or Page.
An example of a username is the phrase "fbsitegovernance" as used in the web address http://www.facebook.com/fbsitegovernance.

No, that takes me to my personal Facebook account's settings, not the group settings.Denny wrote:https://www.facebook.com/help/search/?q=url

Hmmmmmm, I get a 'sign in or create an account' page from that link. Maybe because I have been very rude about facebook sometimes, and it heard me.MTGuru wrote:The Chiff & Fipple Group on Facebook is now the "official" status page for news and updates when the Chiffboard is down or experiencing problems.

Yes, apparently this has changed since I first posted the above. I've asked Dale to look into making the page world-readable again, if possible.DrPhill wrote:Hmmmmmm, I get a 'sign in or create an account' page from that link. Regardless, the FB group will still be where we post outage notices for now. In case of an extended outage, we will also post a notice to thesession.org.
