A place to discuss politics and religion.

Post by Dale »

We've engaged in a variety of experiments here regarding off-topic discussions related to politics and religion. The moderators ultimately have decided, at least for now, that it's best to leave the heavy stuff for elsewhere. A hardy group members of this board (and a scattering of former members) participate in an external forum which is pretty much for Chiff & Fipple folks who want to talk politics and religion. We're grateful for it and am happy to provide a link:

Thanks,

Tell us something.: I used to be a regular then I took up the bassoon. Bassoons don't have a lot of chiff. Not really, I have always been a drummer, and my C&F years were when I was a little tired of the drums. Now I'm back playing drums. I mist the C&F years, though.

At this time, no one appears to have access to the political and controversial subjects forum, including myself.

I've emailed Jared and will post an update here when more information becomes available.

It looks like some folks are able to get back on now, others--including me--can't.

A possible fix for forum login issues:

If you are having difficulty logging into the controversial forum with the Firefox brower, please try this.

In the menu bar at the top of the window, click on "Tools" and then on "Options". On the window that opens, click the tab for "Security" and then click on "Saved Passwords." If there is an entry for the forum, click on it and click on "Remove."

Then try to login. If you still can't, try this:

With the forum page still up, right-click anywhere on the forum and select "View page info." Click on the "Security" tab at the top, and under "Privacy & History," click on "View Cookies." Click on "Remove Cookie" until all the displayed cookies have been deleted.

Then attempt to login to the forum again.

If you are using IE 6,7, or 8, you may want to try the instructions on this page.

I believe something caused the website to generate a corrupted cookie, which is preventing login. This has worked for Emm and myself.
