Anyone played a Suling?

My partner found this in the gift shop at a zoo of all places. I did some digging and it's a balinese instrument used in gamelan music. It has 6 holes on the front and a fipple at the back. Unfortunately it's got a huge crack at the back though I may be able to fix that. (it only cost her £1)
