FS: Flute cases - Rudall style flutes

Post by Jay »

Selling two cases. Patrick Olwell saw this case, the first one. He asked if I would make him one to fit his flute next.

The first is a Bolivian Rosewood, Rudall sized flute case with a zebra wood inlay. Wood is 1/4" thick, with overall dimensions of 11-7/8" x 5-1/2" x 2". The interior is divided into three sections that are roughly 10-3/4" x 1-1/4" each. I can change the interior padding to increase these dimensions to a maximum of about 11" x 1-1/2". My 8-key flute fits without modification.

The interior is lined with a black synthetic suede and closed cell foam. The wood is finished in a nontoxic shellac, hand rubbed.

$150 includes shipping in the US. Overseas will incur a surcharge.

The second case is made from African Mahogany, without inlay, same dimensions, same interior. The wood is really beautiful, with contrasting dark and light grains and a slight chatoyancy (cat's eye effect).

$130 includes shipping in the US. Overseas will incur a surcharge.

I was asked about fitting an eight key flute in this case. Here is my flute in one of these cases. Not included.

The center dividers are made from 1/4" closed cell foam. They flex to adjust for keywork. I can also redo the interior with thinner foam to increase the size of each section. No extra charge.

Best wishes,
Jay

Nice looking boxes - what's the catch on the front called? it looks exactly what I need for something similar.

Sliding box catch. Flute case latch. I've seen different names. These are the best latches for small boxes I've found, but can be difficult to source...

Send me a PM if you can't find some, and I'll see what can be done.

Best wishes,
