Played a Tipple flute for the first time last night

In the years that I've been playing I've never run across a Tipple flute until session last night. A fellow who played the pipes had a Tipple D flute - 3 piece with lip plate, wedge and offset holes. I have to say that I was absolutely blown away by both the quality of craftsmanship and the sound and playability of the flute. I've made my own PVC flutes but after seeing what Doug produces it seems like senseless folly to try and do it yourself. I assure you that Doug is not lining my pockets to say any of this. For me it was just a pleasant experience that needed to be shared.

Cheers,

Kirk

I'd think quite a few of use have had that same reaction to Doug's flutes upon first encounter.

Doug's flutes really are remarkably good...shockingly good for the price. Like Hammy's practice flute, huge bang for the buck. I've run across a couple over the years, and I'm always amazed at the design improvements that keep coming along. Look at this for $110:

(PS - Doug, send the above flute in lieu of a check.... :P )
