They don't seem to mention the crack at the top end of the right hand section. Besides missing the long F key, the picture looks as if the long F block is about to crack off also.

I think I see an attempt to 'pin' that block. In addition to re-making the long F, someone will have to deal with what appears to be an unsuccessful earlier repair. Mebbe JonC isn't too busy

It's in way better shape than the Wylde Jon C. reassembled for me (finished shown below). My "before' was more akin to Josie Mcdermott's R&R that he recently restored.

Well then. . . All one would have to do is convince Jon C. that he doesn't need to sleep in order to get all his backlog caught up. . .

David's Rudall on E-bay would prehaps be a better buy at 1.500 USD instead of paying 1.934 USD for the Wylde?

Does your flute come with the kitty cat Kevin?

I know Just Flutes business is primarily modern Böhm flutes, but they do quite regularly sell antiques - and make themsleves look very inexpert for a firm which claims to be one of London/Britain's main flute specialists!
I have just left this comment on the web-page linked in the OP:

Why no mention in the blurb of the clearly visible crack in the lower body joint ("R hand section") socket or the missing crown cap? With the missing long F key, possibly some damage to the long F mounting block, and the barrel crack, that is a pretty major restoration job. And why the crazy angle photos not showing complete joints properly????

Their write up of Wylde is rather OTT as well!
FWIW, I think their price is rather excessive given its condition. A good Wylde in perfect condition or well and fully restored might get about £2k, maybe less in the current market. The restoration on this one will cost several £100s.

Also FWIW, I reckon this is a relatively early independent Wylde - with the stamp including the words "From Rudall & Rose", with the straight long C key touch and the silver finial to the stopper, the square plates for the pewter plugs, the toroid pad seats and the relatively long sounding length (which means it won't be too happy at A=440). It's lovely looking cocus, and really does look just like an R&R from the 1820s-30s. Well worth restoring!

It looks about identical to my one, even with the same straight high C. I'm playing my one with the tuning slide opened about 5mm, just like a modern made flute, but used to open it more when I got it first, so pitch shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure it's a lovely flute but the price is a bit high imo, I payed less for mine and it was in better conditions.

Kevin, Lorenzo - I see in my FB notifications you responded to my comment on Justflutes' listing - but it appears they have deleted all our comments (!!!) - what did you guys write? I'd love to know! I note they have not (as yet, at any rate) amended their listing details.

I also commented on the keys seeming to be sterling, as are mine. I think Lorenzo was suggesting that Wylde keys were commonly (sic) GS.
