eBay Flute
I got a kick out of this. I clicked the link that says "Live Demonstration", curious to see if someone could actually play one of these FSOs. Well, the guy just talks about it for almost 3 1/2 minutes! I sure wasn't convinced to buy one!

Oh my...
Well we do know that it's a "WOODWIND", it's very light and comes apart to fit in a snappy box.
What more do you need to know?
I think you are just asking way to much of this poor fellow.
I'll take a dozen.
Everyone get's a lamp for X-Mas!

Re: eBay Flute
I can't get over the price they're asking for obvious FSO's... $125! For that much scratch you could easily buy fully functional keyless flutes if you know where to look, or a real antique keyed flute if you're diligent on eBay.
I might grab one to make a lamp if it was only <$40, but not at that price!

Re: eBay Flute
Radcliff, are you nuts? I'm going to buy one JUST for the case! To have such a conveniently shaped case that clearly allows the flute to move around and breathe...a lot...would be ideal. The case would fit perfectly in my session steamer trunk I have strapped to the back of my 49cc scooter.

Eric, No Way! If you allow a flute to have that freedom, it will fly away!!!
that's why the R&R cases are so small and compact!
Don't let your flute go!

I think an ebonite flute should be carried in a bowling bag, to give a nod to its ancestors.

Looks like Marcel Duchamp designed it. That case rocks my world.Jayhawk wrote:Radcliff, are you nuts? I'm going to buy one JUST for the case!
...only just not for carrying flutes. THAT was as ill-conceived as it gets.

Re: eBay Flute
I understood very little of what the man was talking about. It reminds me of the voices that I hear when I dial for customer service. Last night I had a problem with my DSL modem, so I called AT&T. I never was able to talk to a real person, but a computer voice lead me through the trouble-shooting process. I can understand the computer voice a lot better than the "English" speakers from India

Yah, I hear ya. Mine does the same thing. But at least the british comedians never try to tell you how to "fix" your router, modem, beer dispenser, etc., with the inevitable result that they never work again. Cant say that about the "tech support" you get from AT&T.
Besides, after you see the same one five or six times, you can dress up and shout the dialogue back at the TV! Wonderful, interactive television. It usually convinces my wife to give up and leave the room, whence I am able to return to the mind-numbingly dumb show I was watching.

I respect people's privilege to hold their beliefs, whatever those may be (within reason), but respect the beliefs themselves? You gotta be kidding!
