A spanish version of Tull? What a nasty ripoff, though the ending's not bad.

And he sings as if he thinks he's the lead to JCSuperstar.

Too funny

I remember this band appearing in a TV show when I was a child. They were more ore less famous in the early 80's.
I can imagine that for sure Jethro Tull were their heros and their inspiration, although the final result was not the same :moreevil:

Ñu were a one-shot 5-piece Spanish band (violin, flute, keyboards & mellotron, guitar, bass, drums) with their sole album "Cuentos de Ayer y de Hoy" in 1979.

And the lead in JCSuperstar (Ted Neeley) used to record & rehearse in my brother's garage with composer/keyboardist Mike Rapp. Circa their concept album "Ulysses: The Greek Suite" . He recently completed a 4-year tour headlining JCSuperstar again.

their Wiki page offers a pretty extensive discography.
as well as the website for the band: http://www.josecarlosmolina.es

still.....funny stuff

apparently they just issued a DVD (well....a couple years ago) for a show they did in Madrid in 2006.
So he' s still at it.

Picture a bright blue ball just spinning, spinning free
It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.

The lead singer sounds like Ted Neeley in Jesus Christ Superstar.

What's sad is that what these guys are doing was clearly intended as an adulation/emulation thing, but it only succeeds as a complete parody... Kinda what Spinal Tap did to most metal/spandex bands; they were just good enough to blur the line between themselves and the bands doing the same stuff for real - how do you do the Black Sabbath thing after Stonehenge?

Fortunately for Tull, circa '74, this band appeared a little too late, and not at all in the States, to do much harm... OTOH, I kinda liked the band Mago de Oz... Wanted to be Ian, myself, for quite awhile... :D
