I have a few flutes for sale:
1) Healy - Cooktown Ironwood, 6 key (D) - 18 months old and like new
2) Fentum 8 key (D)
3) E flat 8 key Rudall - number 7403
I'm thinking of putting them on ebay but if anybody is SERIOUSLY interested please e-mail me at wjf@eng.cam.ac.uk and we can start a dialog.
Flutes for sale !
Re: Flutes for sale !
Will you please give us more info about these instruments, the sort of thing
a buyer might wish to know? This is too little to be SERIOUSLY interested,
perhaps, which is a necessary condition for inquiring further.

Re: Flutes for sale !
I don't know, seems like it's pretty clear. Anyone interested in an Eb Rudall or a Fentum?
Re: Flutes for sale !
Yes it's clear but not very informative. Imagine this continuation:
The Rudall has multiple cracks in the head joint. I'm selling it because it's so badly out of tune.
The Fentum, well.... damn!
vs.
Both the Rudall and the Fentum are in extroardinarily good condition for their age.
The tuning is very good and all the keys work on both. I'm selling these to pay
for a kidney transplant.
The ad is consistent with both continuations. Consequently it is less easy
to work up SERIOUS interest in these flutes, the precondition for
inquiring further. Obviously the individual would probably include more info if he sold these
on e bay. Even pics. Might help here too. FWIW.
Bump.

Jim's right. You need a description (and better yet photos) to build desire in the potential buyer. I'm sure it'd be easy to prove that a good description can greatly increase the final sale price.

I remember the Fentum, I guess you were the one that bought it...Oudman wrote:I have a few flutes for sale:
