Well, I'll be there, but that's sort of a no-brainer. Alfy Riddle is on this forum and I know he's going to be there.

When I chatted with Skip about two nights ago we had about 25 attendees signed up. It's a nice mix of flute, fife, and some whistles thrown in for seasoning.

Should be a grand old time.

See you there,
John Harvey

Tell us something.: I'm a New York native who gradually slid west and landed in the Phoenix area. I like riding on the back seat of a tandem bicycle. I like dogs and have three of them. I am a sometime actor and an all the time teacher, husband, and dad.

Skip is one of the fifers I admire most. I've looked up to him for many, many years (and not just because he's taller than me). I want to go sooooo badly, but I'm stuck working. Please don't rub it in.

Well, I went and I'm back and I'm pooped and ready to curl up for the winter and practice what I learned. Skip and his staff outdid themselves in putting on a top notch symposium. Great lessons for all levels, classes on arranging, drums, and panel/discussion groups. Two excellant concerts featuring Skip Healy and John Skelton on flutes/fife/Bombarde/pipes. There were other great groups playing as well. Mark Biern sang Irish songs and Sea Chanties, played guitar and Boudhrain (can't spell it but can now pronounce it correctly). AND I bought a Healy keyless D flute. What better way to end a perfect weekend! John Harvey, are you posting any of those myriads of pix?

Hi Bill,

I have ten rolls of film that need to be processed. Most of them should be ready by Friday afternoon. I expect my weekend will consist mostly of scanning...

Grand meeting you. Keep us apprised on how you're doing with your brand new Healy flute.

Take care,
John Harvey

Hi John,
I tried emailing you twice at the jdharv@rhodeirish.net email address and they came back undeliverable so I left you a private messsage on the C&F message system. Let me know if you get it.
Take care.

I'm sure the event was quite good. Skip is much more commercially astute than most other flute makers...and the event sells his flutes well. Maybe even makes some money on its own.

I'm sure he sold a bunch of flutes.
