Who am I?

Post by flappy »

Hi everybody. I'm French and I live in Avignon (south of France). Since a few months I'm the owner of an Irish Flute. I just learn but I find this instrument really fantastic. I discovered Irish music last summer when I was in Ireland. Now I try to play it GOOD. It spends a lot of time I think but it's not the problem.
Otherwise I'm freelance graphic designer.
Cheers

hi flappy

it really takes quite a few years to be able to "play it GOOD", as you said.
there is a lot to learn and work on, but it is also a lot of fun along the way.
with each progress you make, you will be more and more inspired to carry on to get even better....

enjoy the adventure, that the irish flute is....

Hello Berti66.

Berti, I was only joking and had no intention to make a mock of him.

Just some foreign languages could cheer up this site in boring English.

I didn't want to offend anybody speaking dutch. It came naturally on. It's because I did my studies at the Rietveld Academie in Asmterdam where I learn dutch. That's all. Si vous voulez, nos pouvons continuer en français !
Anyway, languages are the same as music. You can 'play' different languages like you 'speak' other music styles... Het is wel mijn eigen mening. Maybe not yours?!
Sorry, het Fries heb ik nooit geleerd (so I mis this music style)....

Tell us something.: I restore 19th century flutes, specializing in Rudall & Rose, and early American flutes. I occasionally make new flutes. Been at it for about 15 years.

Hi Flappy,
I am from Los Angeles, our language is now Spanish... :D

Neither did I, actually I needed a dictionary and the 'staveringshifker' (spellchecker) to write this simple line.

mostly 'spanglish' as our border with Mexico is no longer closed. Spanglish is a mix of english and spanish... (a poor attempt at humor...)
Anyway, welcome to the forum! Nice to have new posters show up.
I am getting a antique French 8 key wooden conical flute in a day or two that I won on Ebay. It will be my first French flute, can't wait!
Take care,
Jon
