FS: Bryan Byrne Keyless Flute

Post by Loren »

Bryan Byrne keyless blackwood flute for sale.

This is a very nice Rudall style flute with medium/small size finger holes. This flute reminds me of the good early Grinters in terms of response, tone, and volume, a wonderful flute. I’d describe the tone as complex and focused, with a sweet sounding second octave. Blackwood Allergies prevent me from playing this flute, which is the reason for the sale.

Bryan’s flutes are very well made, right up there with the best, and this example is in very good condition. I will send detailed photos to seriously interested parties.

$1400. for the Byrne flute, a Cavallero flute roll, and a hard pistol case which will include a humidifier. Price includes shipping to destinations in the continental U.S. Contact me with questions. Thanks.

The Byrne is still available, and though I am currently only in need of a keyed flute at this point in time, I may be open to a trade/partial trade for a Mopane, Boxwood, or Delrin keyless flute from an established maker. Feel free to contact me if you have something interesting to trade. Thanks.

Me neither. I'm playing keyed flutes or I'd snap it up.

Thank you gentlemen. It is certainly a lot of flute for the money - I think $1900-2000 new, if you can get Bryan to make you one - and a very fine flute regardless of price.

I owned one of Bryan's keyless flutes for a long while. His workmanship is beautiful, the flute was more comfortable in my hands than any other I've played. It sounded beautiful and people who heard me play a good deal said it was the best sounding flute I played (serious competition here). I sold the flute to buy a Wilkes keyless, one of those flutes you sell and then miss forever. That flute, which I bought maybe 18 years ago, cost 1600 dollars at the time.

Hello! I was checking out this forum based on the recommendation of a member of an Irish flute Facebook group who knew I was looking for a solid used instrument.

I saw this post and joined the forum in order to contact you, but I now find that I'm not able to private message you until I've proven that my intentions on this forum are honorable by posting three things that are not spam.

I hope this counts as one! There's something in the CCCP (or is it one less C?) about being able to use email if private messaging is necessary during my evaluation period. But I can't figure out how to do that...

Is it possible and permitted for me to share my address so that you can email me? Thanks for considering my plight!

I think I've successfully done it. This is really testing my recall of my early-2000s online forum skills. I think my brain thought we were done with those because I'm having trouble accessing them.
