Quick warm up routines
Quick warm up routines
Any suggestions for some quick warm up routines? It usually takes me about !0 - 15 minutes to get up to speed with embouchure and fingers. I'd like to improve this.

Check out Brendan Mulholland's recently launched online flute school. There's a series of videos with exercises that can be used as a warm up routine.

Re: Quick warm up routines
Playing some scales or arpeggios. A classic exercise is D-F#-A-d, then E-G-B-e, etc.
Octave Jumps. D-d-D, E-e-E, etc. Then d-D-d, e-E-e, etc
I find that I have to do a little work in the third register before my embouchure produces good tones in the lowest notes.
Then I play some easier and slower tunes, like some from O'Carolan pieces.
