Never heard 'Clare Conscience' then? You should have a listen.

Pretty active fluteplayer, often in the company of Aidan McMahon, the Howleys and and the Kilfenora crowd.

There are other nice fluteplayers there, Noel O Donoghue for one:

You'll probably find Brian O'Loughlin from Corofin worth looking into as well:

I heard him in sessions at the Willie Clancy week about 20 years ago, a very strong, powerful player. Isn't / wasn't he a member of the Kilfenora Ceili Band at one time ?

Thanks for the tips. Occasionally some musicians slip under the radar. Majella O'Beirne, flute, and piper Seamus Meehan for instance.

Tell us something.: I grew up in east Clare where I learned much of my music.
I'm flute player with the Kilfenora Ceili Band for the last 29 years. With the band I have recorded 7 studio albums. In 2002 also recorded the duet album, A Clare Conscience with Aidan McMahon.
In Nov 2021 I released my first solo flute album called "Breath-Taking".

I was walking past Custy's this morning. There was some very tasty fluteplaying coming from the speakers and drifting down the street. Tatter Jack Walsh going into the Boys of the town. I have since figured out it must have been 'Breath taking'. Good stuff.

Tell us something.: Musician for contradances in Baltimore MD. Main instrument is guitar, but currently playing a keyless polymer flute and a tweaked Freeman generation whistle. Interested in technique discussions and flutes for sale.
