He has advertized the piccolo separately from the collection so how do you know what you are bidding on, will he tell you afterwards it was only for the piccolo?
If anybody here on this forum goes for it and wins please let us know the outcome, after all there are 5 flutes plus fifes and piccolo and other "things".
I will not bid. It's too looney for me.

Nahh, I'm not really gonna bid either. I am gonna watch it to see what happens to the price, though. Should be around midday tommorow (EST).

I hate to be a partypooper, but i think that has liquidation written all over it. I doubt any of the flutes is going to be any good. It's probably stuff that didn't sell previously in other auctions. Still, if the price doesn't climb, it may be an interesting loot, to keep for parts, or keep what you want and sell the rest.

The flutes went to a French collector, judging by his ebay record. All the other high bidders were German. After all that muscle-flexing there was no apparent action by Mr. Muscle. I just hope that nobody on the board felt in any way intimidated and shyed away from bidding.

How can you be intimidated by someone who looks as if they are trying to rid themselves of the effects of severe constipation!

I was intimidated by the idea of trying to correspond with the seller in German. -Technically-
I speak German. Or did. I have credits on my transcript, see? Ich kann spreche Deutsch!
Or is it Ich kann Deutsch sprechen? Or... well, anyway, I coudn't face my German textbook and dictionary again after all these years. I just know there'd be a jealous rage over all the time I spent with Japanese instead.

1 grand is an insanely large gamble based on a picture and a few lines of text. . . . one could order a hammy for that with no worries. Glad I stayed out.

You can't even see anything of the pads and whether the keys are bent etc. But from one who bid on a strange recorder which turned to be a Flagelot of about 1850 and worth considerably more than the 12 Canadian dollars plus postage I hope the buyer has got a bargain. It's all down to risk really.
