And what, pray you, does a REAL simple diatonic flute look like?
Does it look like a simple bansuri or a dizi or one of the many "real" and "unreal" keyless Irish flutes or a Rennaissance flute?

And, what does a REAL definition of these things look like and is it beautiful?

And, if I do obtain a REAL diatonic flute will it guarantee that no one will ever think that it is a chromatic flute and thereby scar its perceived beauty for life?

Okay, so if I play an unreal Irish flute, but I play it in a realistically Irish style, will it disappear?

I've been trolling eBay for a REAL Gallifreyan flute. The kind that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside.

I could fit Malloy's Space Flute inside one of those, no problem....I wonder if I could play harmonies?....Well, Matt probably could.

Late as usual but relevant to about three pages ago. My aunt plays the clarinet and was offered a job in Lawrence Welk's orchestra. She turned down the gig to be a school teacher. I wonder if anyone ever asked her what kind of Irish flute she played. :)

Cheers,

Kirk

I check in on this thread every once in a while, and wonder if the OP has gotten a useful assist.

Now I know what fueled the movement toward a post-structural area. And a good idea, it was.

One must then ponder the question:

"What does a REAL Irish flute player look like?"

Gee whiz, a beautiful Christmas compliment! :)
I average about two a year. Its not that members don't generally appreciate me.
Rather they often don't express it. If I got more appreciation as above I might even post less.

OTOH, a friend looking over my shoulder says that the above post is probably sarcastic and now I feel a depression coming on. Oh dear, what does a REAL compliment look like?
