Searching for this particular kind of case.

Post by planxtydt »

Hello all

I have been searching the net for this kind of flute case. Solen Lesouef used to supply her finished flutes in these for customers although she has told me her supplier can no longer provide them. Here are some pictures.

They are actually very sturdy and the loose felt covered blocks mean that a good fit can be achieved.
If you know of anywhere that sells a similar product or if you have one you might want to sell please get in touch. The cases have FEL printed on them which I assume stands for France Europe Lutherie.

Thanks

David

Glen Lebot (http://www.glenlebot-instruments.com/ac ... -bois.html) is providing the same model of flute cases with his instruments. I don't know if this item is out of stock too, whether he can provide them apart from a flute purchase.

Give it a try though, for he is a nice man to deal with.

Cheers,

Pascal.

A friend of mine just got a stephane morvan that came in a similar case.

Good luck in your search.

Look at the web site for the "Early Music Shop", Bradford, UK. They have just the case in their recorder case section.

Thanks everyone for your helpful advice. Glen LeBot tells me that he is having the same problem as Solen.
Martin, i'm not 100% sure that the cases sold through Early Music are the same although I will make an enquiry.
Doug, those ebay cases are not the same but may still be suitable although they clearly have less room inside and the compartments appear to be thinner.

I am somewhat hesitant to post this, since it is an incomplete solution. . .sort of.
Some friends provide custom bags of all sorts. Unfortunately their web site is undergoing a reworking for 2010. However they are great people to work with.
A link to their site: http://www.carrygearsolutions.com/beta/betabox.php

Drop them an email and they may be able to help.

Cheers,
Bob

will be the one you are looking for!

Cheers again

I can confirm that the early music shop case it is the same as the one in the original picture. I have one. The long version will hold the main body section of a casey burns two part folk flute with no problem.

What we Americans really need is a readily available U.S. version to save on shipping.
