Cochran R & R (Delrin, keyless, medium holed)
Burns Folk Flute (Mopane, 2 piece version)
I wish I could play either one up to its potential.

Terry McGee 4 key boxwood, late 18th century English copy

They both play better than I do.

Thanks to all for submitting your comments. I am hoping to compile some sort of list of what flutes are being played, such as antiques, modern, keyed/keyless, etc. So please keep on sharing!

Most of these get pulled out on 'big' gigs
Barnet&Samuel 8-key
Goulding 8-key
Jon C's 'Mopane Cannon', keyless in D
Burns low A in blackwood
Armstrong Eb Boehm
Jumbled bag of whistle, but always my MellowDog.

Keith, Prowse 8 key in cocus wood, I can't see I'll need anything else or ever play it to its full potential.

Watson Nitric Acid stained 6 key Boxwood flute. If you try to touch it I will break your face, I am not kiddding. Glenn doesn't make this exact flute anymore and it is the only keyed flute I can play with limited forearm and wrist problems at the moment. Plus, it kicks ass and had the best intonation of any wooden flute I have ever played.
Boxwood Grinter keyless. Good god, if this thing were only keyed..... Total Crawford/McGoldrick sound and incredibly easy to play. A little too "historic" in the intonation dept. for my liking, but the tone, playability, slim profile, and volume make up for it.
Dogwood Olwell Pratten Keyless. Sigh....if only I could play this flute without pain. No one makes flutes like Pat. Best players on the planet IMO. I love this flute, you just pick it up and KILL! I still prefer the Watson's intonation, slim body profile, and nitric acid stain, but the Olwell rules in tone, volume, and playability. I need a keyed Boxwood or Dogwood Olwell Nicholson or R&R.......

Currently I play...
John Gallagher, 8 key, acid stained dogwood, Pratten copy
Rudall & Rose, 6 key, boxwood, #1040
I've got another flute on order with John, and a few Olwell's that are not too far off in the future.

My first post as a new member so I hope you don't mind me getting involved.
I currently play on a Rudall Carte cylinder flute "Old System". Originally built in 1887 it was rebuilt by Rudall Carte and Co. Ltd. to modern pitch in 1930 and is an absolute treasure !
