The new site looks great Dave. Congrats on the update. I didn't know you worked with boxwood and cocus. Interesting

Wonderful site, a very strong incentive for me to start saving and add to the blackwood and silver D I was fortunate to pick up earlier this year, what a fantastic flute it is, my teacher is tremendously impressed by it and raves about the low D.

- Tell us something.: Love playing trumpet and modern flute at church as well as Irish trad flute in a band. Been playing Irish trad and 18th century period music for about 15 years.

Now I really, REALLY want one of the keyless, blackwood F-flutes! Tried one at the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Fest and liked it a lot! It was easy to resist, however, 'cause I didn't have a picture to look at... I have come to love my 4-key D a lot, btw...

Re: New Web Site for Copley Flutes
Dave, or anyone else who has played one, what is the one key baroque boxwood like? The holes look a bit larger than most true baroque flutes - in many ways this looks like a modern version of the one key flutes sold throughout the 1800s. Would this work for ITM as well as more traditional baroque music?

Eric, yes the flute in the picture was made for a customer who wanted it to play like a modern "Irish" flute, but look more like a flute of the early classical period.

Dave,
thanks for the reply. I hope the model sells well for you - it sure looks great and knowing how your flutes sound I'm sure it sounds great as well.

Very nice site, Dave. I do note that Cathy Wilde's plot to talk you into making a delrin C has, so far, not succeeded.

Congrats on your new site, it's a massive improvement! - I did think it was odd to have to find your old site at the end of a page devoted to welsh lovespoons! - I bought a Delrin flute from Dave a year ago (and a friend has since bought one as a result), it's a great flute and I enjoy it a lot.

The new site looks great Dave. Good to see you are doing the low C#, low C, and right hand Bb keys as well as Boxwood (even if it isn't available all the time) things to consider if I ever want keys on my Copley Eb or maybe one of those F Flutes everyone talks about...
